About Gusto
Chef Adolfo Garcia's Gusto, a cafe and bar at The Theatres at Canal Place, features small plates and special treats that go well beyond satisfaction. The menu takes popcorn and soda to a whole new level, with Mediterranean inspired dishes, and local favorites like Pecan Pralines and Hubig's Pies! Gusto's courteous and friendly staff take care of you as you dine-in at the cafe or right in your seat while watching a movie.

The Cafe
The Gusto menu begins with enticing starters like Popcorn topped with parmigiano and black pepper, white truffle, or pimenton and garlic. A delightful array of selections include: a duo of housemade hummus and tzatziki, flatbread pizza with herb marinated Roman artichokes, portobella and Manchego, and salad topped with grilled tuna, roasted peppers, and capers. Favorite sandwich flavors can be enjoyed warm as a panini with options like grilled vegetables with goat cheese and roasted peppers, or the Spanish muffeleta with Serrano ham, Manchego cheese, olive salad and piquillo peppers. Artisanal salumi from a Mano shows up alongside mustard, and fig mustarda accompaniments which pair well with a glass of crisp white or the elegant Angelini Tuttobene, an Italian Red.

The Bar
A wide varietal range of select red and white wines are available, a premium bar with hand-crafted cocktails, and local, domestic and imported beer are served. You might start with a refreshing Watermelon Mojito with Old New Orleans Rum and mint. The Canal Place Cooler with fresh lemonade, vodka and pomegranate will also tempt. Non-alcoholic selections like Italian sodas (Almond, Hibiscus and Blood Orange), and seasonally flavored (Ponchatoula Strawberry for example) house brewed teas tastefully slake thirst. Cafe au lait, and espresso based drinks round out the drink menu.

The Chef
Chef Adolfo Garcia brings to Gusto a wealth of talent, and a focused approach to Latin-influenced cuisine at his three restaurants: RioMar, a Spanish and Latin American Seafood restaurant; La Boca, an Argentine Steakhouse; and his newest a Mano, a Central and Southern Italian Trattoria. He's among New Orleans' most acclaimed chefs, and is the first to be named Best New Chef and later be named Chef of the Year by New Orleans Magazine. RioMar has been named by the Times-Picayune to its Top 10 Restaurant List for the city. Most recently, Garcia was named a James Beard Semifinalist as Best Chef for the South for RioMar, La Boca, and a Mano, and named a national Best New Restaurant semifinalist for a Mano. Additionally, La Boca is the highest Zagat cuisine rated steakhouse, and RioMar is among their highest rated seafood restaurants in the city.
