Description:

The idea--never expressed, but easy to suppose--that this is Emeril's answer to Commander's Palace, his old employer. The menu is an interesting take on famous old dishes, in that they all appear here using ingredients and techniques that appeal to current tastes. So you get steak tartare, tableside Caesar salad, crab cakes, barbecue shrimp, and escargots--but prepared with new touches. The ingredients are of superb quality, a fact that most benefits the steak department--a major emphasis here. It's all Prime beef aged in-house, and contend for the honor of best steaks in town. The service staff is careful and skillful, and the wine list keeps up with the one at Emeril's flagship restaurant in its distinction.
